I understand that we are waiting for new "regulations" - by which I take it they mean Management and Conduct Rules - under the new Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act. Does anyone have any idea how long these will take? Or have any other information about them? The new Act incorporates some things that were previously covered in the Management Rules, so I'm wondering whether there might be significant amendments to come in the new rules? I'm also a bit confused as to why they've just published new amendments to the Management Rules under the 1986 Act, when those should surely now move under the STS Management Act? I've tried phoning the Department of Human Settlements, but no-one knows who I should speak to, or, when they give me a number to try, the phone isn't answered.

I would like to know where i can get the uptodate copies of the Sectional Title matters which are the following give in your books as The Act/s, Management and Conduct rules, The Sectional plans, A handbook such as my Sectional titles on Tap.Please tell me where i can find them Thank you

Thanks for your inquiry. My Sectional Titles on Tap is at present out of print pending the implementation of the new acts. I intend to update the work as soon as the regulations under the new legislation is published. Yes, the Regulations will include the rules which definitely have to be amended to accommodate the changes in the Act. I have in the meantime published the first in a range of mini-publications dealing with various sectional title aspects. It is called the Sectional Titles on Tap Rescue Kit for New Trustees and is available from rosie@section.co.za at a price of R 98,00. I have printed only a 1000 and they are selling like hot cakes. Others in the range will cover levies, accounting, meetings, etc. but they will only be published when the new Acts are in force. Tertius

Are the New Sectional Management and Conduct rules available . I am a trustee at a Body Corporate in Pinetown and we are at present making changes to our Body Corporate and Managemenet Rules bringing them in line with Changes in Social complexities of Building living and yet making sure we are in line with the Sectional Title Act At present all owners have an amemded copy of the rules and are able to put forward their views. The final Resolution will be taken at the AGM Is this the correct procedure that we are following. Thank you
